Q: With so many common food allergens are left out, what’s actually in your products?
A: We have to get creative with our ingredients! Like other gluten free and allergy friendly foods, we use some rice products (rice flour, rice flakes, rice protein). But unlike many other gluten-free manufacturers, we also use nutrient- and flavor-rich grain alternatives like quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat and sorghum flour. For sweeteners, we skip the refined stuff and use a combination of natural fruit juices and honey or pure brown cane sugar. We also bake with rosemary extract and a fruit juice/grain dextrin mixture to lock-in freshness and extend shelf life.
Q: How long will Enjoy Life products stay fresh?
A: If you keep them sealed, our products will stay fresh until the best-by date on the packaging.
Q: Can I freeze Enjoy Life products? For how long?

A: We list our dates in two ways, for each country which our products are available for purchase! In the United States, the Best By date is listed: MM/DD/YY. In Canada, our Best By date is listed as YY/MM/DD, and months are listed as letters:

Celiac Disease & Gluten-Free Living
Q: What is Celiac Disease? How is it diagnosed?
Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition triggered by the intake of gluten in genetically predisposed individuals. The only treatment for celiac disease is a strict gluten-free diet for life. Luckily there are now many tasty and nutritious gluten free foods — like Enjoy Life products — that make it easier to eliminate gluten from one’s diet.
Once thought to be a rare disorder, celiac disease is known to affect about 1% of the population. Symptoms vary in nature (such as diarrhea, skin rashes and migraines) and severity. Gone untreated, celiac disease may result in osteoporosis, infertility and anemia. It also increases the likelihood of developing other autoimmune conditions and cancers of the gut.
Celiac disease is the most under-diagnosed health condition today, often mislabeled as irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, ulcers and anxiety disorder. It can be diagnosed through a blood test and biopsy of the small intestine. Talk to your primary care physician if you think you might have celiac disease. For more information, visit the resources section of our site for links to celiac disease organizations, support groups and research centers.
Q: What is gluten?
A: Gluten is the protein found in wheat, rye and barley. It is in most mainstream bakery items and prepared foods, including such unsuspecting items as soy sauce and licorice (both made with wheat). People with celiac disease and other forms of gluten intolerance must avoid foods that contain gluten, or they may suffer from short- and long-term health complications.
In the great “gluten debate,” oats are a controversial grain, once thought to be a substantial source of gluten. Recent research has suggested that oats do not contain the reactive peptide sequence known to be problematic for gluten intolerance. However, most oats in this country are grown, processed or stored near wheat and are thought to be contaminated at levels too high to be considered safe for people with celiac disease. Therefore, we have chosen to use certified gluten free purity protocol oats in our products that do contain oats.
Q: What is a GF/CF diet?
A: A GF/CF diet is one that is free-from gluten and casein. Gluten is the protein that is found in wheat, barley and rye, while casein is the principal protein found in milk and other dairy products. All Enjoy Life products are gluten-free and casein-free, so they are suitable for a GF/CF diet.
Food Allergies & Intolerances
Q: What are food allergies?
A: A food allergy occurs when the immune system produces an antibody in response to the protein in specific foods. Exposure to the food in even the tiniest amounts can produce symptoms either immediately or delayed, ranging from uncomfortable (hives, eczema, stomach upset, sinus problems) to life threatening (swelling of the tongue, closing of the throat). Food elimination diets, blood and/or lab tests are used as a part of the diagnosis.
Q: What are food intolerances?
A: Food intolerance occurs when eating a certain food triggers a negative physiological response, but the immune system is not affected in the same way. Symptoms may take up to three days to kick in, making food intolerances very difficult to diagnose. Elimination diets and specialty tests are the most common methods for diagnosis. While not life-threatening, symptoms can be severe and range from gastrointestinal distress, headache and chronic fatigue.
Q: I think I might have a food allergy. How can I learn more?
A: Since we aren’t doctors, we cannot dispense medical advice. We recommend that you talk to your doctor. If you would like to do more research, there are great online resources listed in our resources section.
Where to Buy
Q: Where can I buy Enjoy Life products?
A: Our products are available in the United States and Canada, and you often can find them in stores’ gluten-free or natural sections! If you’re looking for a specific product or flavour, check out our store locator!
Q: How much do your products cost?
A: Every store sets different pricing, but our average retail prices range $1.99 – $8.49 depending on the product line.
Q: My favorite store doesn’t carry Enjoy Life products. What should I do?
A: You should personally ask your store manager to consider carrying Enjoy Life foods. Often, that’s all it takes for them to start stocking our goodies. To make it easy, you can print and sign our store request letter and give it to the store manager as a reminder.
Q: Can I buy Enjoy Life products online?
Q: Can you send me samples or coupons?
A: We wish we could honor all requests for samples and coupons, as we know that it can be expensive to eat allergy-friendly and gluten-free foods. Unfortunately we have a limited number of samples and coupons that we can distribute throughout the year, so we can’t send coupons to everyone who requests them. You can, however, download and print our digital coupons any time. They are located on the bottom of every page on our website.
Q: I’m having trouble printing your downloadable coupons. Can you help?
A: Yes! Qples (the software program that allows you to print coupons at home) often updates its software. We recommend you download the latest version and try again. If that still doesn’t work, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Do you donate products and coupons to events?
A: Enjoy Life has always supported organizations that help people with special dietary needs. We occasionally donate products and coupons to events, but the decision is made on a case-by-case basis. To submit a proposal, complete our product donation form. While we cannot say yes to everyone, we promise that we will review your proposal and get back to you with a decision.
